voidclip

Licenses

voidclip is made by swixum and is free to use. It is built on work by other people, and here is who.

voidclip itself

© 2026 swixum. All rights reserved. The voidclip name, the logo and this site are mine. You are welcome to use the app and pass the download around unchanged. Do not sell it, rebrand it, or put your own name on it.

voidclip™ is an unregistered trademark of swixum.

ffmpeg

Every clip is cut by ffmpeg, which runs as its own program alongside voidclip. It is not written by me.

Montserrat

The font is Montserrat, used unchanged under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Its license text is in the same licenses folder.

Electron and Chromium

The window itself runs on Electron, which is MIT licensed, and on Chromium. Both license files ship in the app folder as LICENSE.electron.txt and LICENSES.chromium.html.

The update check

The update check is electron-updater and the fifteen small libraries it needs, all MIT or close to it. Each one is named with its license in updater-libraries.txt in the licenses folder, and their license texts ride inside the app.

The places clips go

Catbox, Litterbox, qu.ax and Streamable are run by other people. I have no connection to them, cannot speak for them, and cannot get a clip back once it is on their server. Their rules and their limits are their own.

Privacy

The app collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics and no crash reporting. It never looks for an update unless you turn that on yourself, and it is off when you install it.

Removing it

The uninstaller takes out the app and its shortcuts. Your settings and clip list are left behind on purpose, in %APPDATA%\voidclip. Delete that folder and there is nothing left.

No warranty

voidclip comes as is, with no warranty of any kind. Keep your own copy of anything you care about.
